My Journey Through Chemotherapy: Embracing Healing and Resilience

Since my last update, I’ve started the next phase of my journey—induction treatment with chemotherapy. I’ll admit I was nervous at first. However, so far, the side effects have been kinder than I expected. Apart from some nausea and skin rashes, I’ve been able to keep my spirits up and stay steady.


Supporting My Body Through Treatment


Even though I can’t control everything, I’ve focused on the little things that make a difference. Here are some of the strategies I’ve adopted:


  • 🚶‍♀️ Walking along the ward to keep my body moving and my mind positive.

  • 🍓 Eating berries and other antioxidant-rich foods to support healing.

  • 🥤 Nourishing smoothies packed with vitamins, probiotics, and greens.

  • 🍲 Bone broth soups for comfort and gentle nutrition.


These small choices, alongside the essential medication and medical care I’m receiving, help me feel more grounded and supported each day.


The Importance of Mindfulness


Mindfulness plays a crucial role in my healing process. Taking a moment to breathe deeply and reflect helps me stay centered. I practice mindfulness through meditation and gentle stretches. This practice allows me to connect with my body and acknowledge my feelings without judgment.


Nutrition: Fueling My Body


Nutrition is vital during this time. I have learned that what I eat can significantly impact how I feel. I focus on whole foods that nourish my body. Incorporating a variety of fruits, vegetables, and lean proteins helps me maintain my strength.


I also make sure to stay hydrated. Drinking plenty of water is essential for flushing out toxins and keeping my energy levels up.

This part of the journey isn’t about fitness goals or fasting—it’s about healing, resilience, and trusting the process. Every walk, every spoonful of broth, and every healthy sip feels like an act of self-care.
